Then Herod the Tetrarch; when he was rebuked of him for Herodias his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done;

And said unto them that sold doves, "Have these things hence, and make not my father's house a house of merchandise."

And said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.'"





Why perceive ye not, then, that I spake not unto you of bread, when I said, 'Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?'"

Do ye not yet perceive, neither remember those five loaves, when there were five thousand men, and how many baskets took ye up?


Woe be unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven before men: ye yourselves go not in, neither suffer ye them that come to enter in.



and he said unto them, "Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?"

And they were abashed, and afraid, supposing that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, "Why are ye troubled? And why do thoughts arise in your hearts?


After that he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat: and cast in their teeth their unbelief, and hardness of heart: because they believed not them which had seen him after his resurrection.

And when Jesus knew that, he said unto them, "Why take ye thought because ye have no bread? Perceive ye not yet, neither understand? Have ye your hearts yet blinded?




Then began he to upbraid the cities, in which most of his miracles were done, because they repented not: "Woe be to thee, Chorazsin! Woe be to thee, Bethsaida! for if the miracles, which were showed in you, had been done in Tyre and in Sidon: they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Nevertheless I say to you, it shall be easier for Tyre and Sidon, at the day of judgment, than for you. read more.
And thou, Capernaum, which art lift up unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the miracles, which have been done in thee, had been showed in Sodom, they had remained to this day. Nevertheless, I say unto you, It shall be easier for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee."


and I advised so in my mind, that I rebuked the councilors and the rulers, and said unto them, "Will ye require usury one of another?" And I brought a great congregation against them,


The others answered and rebuked him, saying, "Neither fearest thou God because thou art in the same damnation?
