Say: Hear the word of the Lord, kings of Judah and residents of Jerusalem. They will bury in Topheth until there is no place left to bury. I will do so to this place"-[this is] the declaration of the Lord-"and to its residents, making this city like Topheth. The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will become impure like that place Topheth-all the houses on whose rooftops they have burned incense to the whole heavenly host and poured out drink offerings to other gods." Because of the continual prostitution of the prostitute, the attractive mistress of sorcery, who betrays nations by her prostitution and clans by her witchcraft, I am against you- the declaration of the Lord of Hosts. In addition, Josiah removed the mediums, the spiritists, household idols, images, and all the detestable things that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. He did this in order to carry out the words of the law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the Lord’s temple.

A man or a woman who is a medium or a spiritist must be put to death. They are to be stoned; their blood is on their own hands.”
