The beginning of strife is [like] letting out water. Therefore leave off contention, before there is quarrelling.

Now therefore it is indeed altogether a defeat for you because ye have legal disputes against yourselves. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? Instead ye do wrong, and defraud, and these things to brothers.

For when thou go with thine opponent to the magistrate on the way give effort to be delivered from him, lest he may drag thee to the judge, and the judge may deliver thee to the officer, and the officer would cast thee into prison.
