praying with all prayer and entreaty at all times in the Spirit; and watching to this end with all perseverance and entreaty for all the saints,

Watch, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong;

But take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be weighed down with surfeiting and drunkenness and worldly cares, and that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare will it come on all that dwell on the face of the whole earth. But watch at all times, and pray that ye may be able to escape all the things that are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock. And from among yourselves will men arise speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be watchful, and remember that for the space of three years, night and day, I ceased not to warn every one with tears.
