Then Solomon drew affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter and brought her into the city of David until he had made an end of building his own house and the house of the LORD and the walls of Jerusalem round about.

After him builded Meshullam the son of Barachiah over against his chest. After him builded Malchijah the goldsmith's son, until the house of the Nethinims, and of the merchants over against the council gate, and to the parlor in the corner. And between the parlor of the corner unto the Sheepgate builded the goldsmiths and the merchants.

Next unto him builded Uzziel the son of Harhaiah the goldsmith. Next unto him builded Hananiah the Apothecary's son, and they repaired Jerusalem unto the broad wall.

After him builded they of Tekoa the other piece over against the great tower, that lieth outward, and unto the wall of Ophel.

Yet builded we the wall, and joined it whole together, unto the half height. And the people were well minded to labour.

And the wall was finished on the five and twentieth day of the month Elul, in two and fifty days.

Now when we had builded the wall I hanged on the doors; and the porters, singers and Levites were appointed.

And in the dedication of the wall at Jerusalem, were the Levites sought out of all their places, that they might be brought to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication and gladness, with thanksgivings, with singing, with cymbals, Psalteries, and harps.
