A light is not placed under a cover. To the contrary, it is placed on a table so all may see.
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill may be seen by all.

You parted the sea before them, so that they went through the sea on dry land; and those who went after them went down into the deep, like a stone into great waters. No man lights a lamp and puts it in a cellar or under a bushel. He puts it on a table so those who enter may see the light. The lamp of your body is your eye. When your eye is clear your entire body is full of light. When it is evil your body is full of darkness. Make sure the light that is in you is not darkness.

Make lamp stand of pure gold. Make its base and its shaft of hammered gold. Its decorative flowers, including buds and petals, are to form one piece with it. Six branches shall extend from its sides, three from each side. Three cups shall be shaped like almond blossoms in the one branch, a bulb and a flower, and three cups shaped like almond blossoms in the other branch. Four cups shaped like almond blossoms, its bulbs and its flowers should be in the lamp stand. A bulb shall be under each of the six pair of branches coming out of the lamp stand. Their bulbs and their branches shall be of one piece. All of it must be one piece of hammered work of pure gold. Then make a total of seven lamps. Mount the lamps so that they shed light on the space in front of it. Its snuffers and fire holders (trays) must be of pure gold. It shall be made from seventy-five pounds of pure gold, with all these utensils. See that you make them like the pattern for them that were shown to you on the mountain.
Command the Israelites that the lighting must be provided by pure virgin olive oil so that the lamps will not go out.
