And the Master turned and looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the words that the Master had said to him-- "Before a cock has crowed to-day, you will disown me three times";
As Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers--Simon, also known as Peter, and his brother Andrew--casting a net into the Sea; for they were fishermen.
Then he brought him to Jesus. Fixing his eyes on him, Jesus said: "You are Simon, the son of John; you shall be called Kephas" (which means 'Peter,' or 'Rock').
When Jesus saw Nathanael coming towards him, he said: "Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is no deceit!"
"How do you know me?" asked Nathanael. "Even before Philip called you," replied Jesus, "when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
"Do you believe in me," asked Jesus, "because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You shall see greater things than those!
Jesus saw the man lying there, and, finding that he had been in this state a long time, said to him: "Do you wish to be cured?"
When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved, standing near, he said to his mother: "There is your son."
But, when he saw the crowds, his heart was moved with compassion for them, because they were distressed and harassed, 'like sheep without a shepherd';
As they remained silent, Jesus looked round at them in anger, grieving at the hardness of their hearts, and said to the man: "Stretch out your hand." The man stretched it out; and his hand had become sound.
Jesus looked at the man, and his heart went out to him, and he said: "There is still one thing wanting in you; go and sell all that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall heave wealth in Heaven; then come and follow me."
Then Jesus looked round, and said to his disciples: "How hard it will be for men of wealth to enter the Kingdom of God!"
Jesus looked at them, and answered: "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for everything is possible with God."
Then, looking round at them all, he said to the man: "Stretch out your hand." The man did so; and his hand had become sound.
Then, raising his eyes and looking at his disciples, Jesus spoke as follows: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God.
When he drew near, on seeing the city, he wept over it, and said:
But Jesus turned round, and saw them following. "What are you looking for?" he asked. "Rabbi," they answered (or, as we should say, "Teacher"), "where are you staying?"
Looking up, and noticing that a great crowd was coming towards him, Jesus said to Philip: "Where are we to buy bread for these people to eat?"
On seeing the crowds of People, Jesus went up the hill; and, when he had taken his seat, his disciples came up to him;
You, in the same way, are sorry now; but I shall see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will rob you of your joy.
After saying this, Jesus raised his eyes heaven-wards, and said: "Father, the hour has come; honor thy Son, that thy Son may honor thee;
