And when they were come to Capernaum, the receivers of the tribute-money came to Peter and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? Yes, saith he.

And let him, that is instructed in the word, communicate in all good things to him that instructeth.

And it came to pass afterwards that He went through every city and village, preaching and declaring the good tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with Him; and some women that had been cured of evil spirits and other infirmities, as Mary Magdalene, out of whom were cast seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who assisted Him with their substance.

And ye Philippians know, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I was departing from Macedonia, no church communicated to me on the score of giving and receiving, but you only. For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again to supply my wants.

Let the elders, who preside well, be counted worthy of double honor, especially those that labour in preaching and teaching. For the scripture saith, "Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn:" and, "The workman is worthy of his hire."

For the Macedonians and Achaians have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor saints at Jerusalem.

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so also do ye.

And they sold their possessions and goods, and distributed to all, according as any one had need.

Neither was there any indigent person among them; for as many as were proprietors of lands or houses, sold them and brought the prices of what were sold, and laid them at the apostles feet; and distribution was made to every one according to their necessity.

And each of the disciples, according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren who dwelt in Judea. Which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

For I do not mean that others should have relief, and you be burdened: but by an equality, that your abundance may at this time be a supply to their want; and their abundance may be the like to your want, if need be: that there may be an equality: as it is written, "He that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack."
