But the younger widows refuse; for when they are waxed wanton against Christ, they want to marry;

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Amen. Therefore God gave them up to vile affections; for even their women changed the natural use to that which is against nature: And likewise also the men,

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication; That every one of you know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

For the time past of your life sufficeth to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when ye walked in lasciviousness, evil desires, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries.

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness in the desires of their hearts, to dishonour their bodies among themselves;

For by speaking swelling words of vanity, they allure thro' the desire of the flesh, thro' wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them that live in error.

Pray for us; for we trust we have a good conscience, desiring to behave ourselves well in all things.

But sin taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of desire: for without the law sin was dead.

I will have mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

But they that desire to be rich, fall into temptation, and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful desires, which plunge men into destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evils; which some coveting, have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Let no man when he is tempted say, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own desire and inticed. Then desire having conceived, bringeth forth sin; and sin being perfected, bringeth forth death.

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice; for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

If any of you want wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.

But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise government: presumptuous, self-willed; they are not afraid to rail at dignities:

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in part. And God hath set in the church, first, apostles, secondly, prophets, thirdly, teachers: afterward miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? have all miraculous powers?read more.
Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts. And yet I shew unto you a more excellent way.

This is a faithful saying, If a man desireth the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

And they that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with its affections and desires.

They that are after the flesh, mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Now to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace: Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.read more.

The night is far spent; the day is at hand, let us therefore put off the works of darkness, and put on the armour of light. Let us walk decently, as in the day; not in banqueting and drunken entertainments, not in uncleannesses and wantonness, not in strife and envy.read more.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the desires thereof.

For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good, I find not.

From whence come wars and fightings among you? Is it not hence, from your pleasures that war in your members?
