so that we ourselves glory in you, among the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure;

And he spoke a parable to them, that they ought always to pray, and not to become weary,

For consider him that endured such opposition of sinners against himself, lest you become weary and despondent in your minds.

Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God; believe also in me.

and that you have patience, and have endured for my name's sake, and have not fainted.

For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which came upon us in Asia, that we were exceedingly oppressed, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life. Remember those who are in bonds, as if you yourselves had been bound, and those who suffer affliction, since you yourselves are in the body.

rejoice with them that rejoice, and weep with them that weep;

Religion, pure and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
