Jehovah says: Do not enter a house of mourning, or go to lament or to console them. I have withdrawn my peace from this people, declares Jehovah, even my loving kindness and compassion.
Son of man, behold, I am about to take from you the desire of your eyes with a blow. You will, however, not mourn and you will not weep, and your tears will not come.
Moses said to Aaron and to his sons Eleazar and Ithamar: Do not leave your hair uncombed or tear your clothes to show that you are in mourning. If you do you will die.
