But he answering said, It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and placed him on a wing of the temple, and saith to him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, "that he shall give his angels a charge concerning thee: and in their hands shall they hold thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone." Jesus said unto him, It is written again, "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God."

And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen!
