Now I beseech you, brethren, mark those who cause divisions and revolts against the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them.

but my meaning was, not to keep company with any christian known to be vicious, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or rapacious, no not even to eat with such a one.

Are you not become associates with infidels? but what affinity is there between virtue and vice? and what communication has light with darkness?
