and if Christ be not risen, vain indeed is our preaching, and vain also your faith.

For if the dead are not raised, neither is Christ risen: and if Christ be not risen, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
