In it I have been made a minister in accordance with the trusteeship God entrusted to me for you, that I might prove among you the universal message of God, the open secret, covered up from the people of former ages and generations, but now uncovered to God's people,
Whoever says, "I know Him," but does not practice obedience to His commands is a liar, and there is no truth in his heart; but whoever practices obedience to His message really has a perfect love of God in his heart. By this we can be sure that we are in union with Him:
For I tell you, brothers, the good news which was preached by me is not a human message, for I did not get it from any man; I was not taught it, but I got it through a revelation given by Jesus Christ.
He has made known to us the secret of His will, which is in accordance with His purpose which He planned in Christ, so that, at the coming of the climax of the ages, everything in heaven and on earth should be unified through Christ,
By reading this you will be able to understand my insight into the secret about the Christ -- which in the earlier ages, so different from the present, was not made known to mankind as fully as now, but through the Spirit it has been revealed to His Holy apostles and prophets -- that the heathen through union with Christ Jesus are fellow-heirs with the Jews, are members with them of the same body, and sharers with them of the promise through the good news,read more.
for which I was called to serve in accordance with the gift of God's unmerited favor which was bestowed on me by the exercise of His power-- yes, on me, the very least of all His people, this unmerited favor was bestowed -- that I might preach as good news to the heathen the boundless riches of Christ, and to make clear how is to be carried out the trusteeship of this secret which has for ages been hidden away in God, the Creator of all things, so that the many phases of God's wisdom may now through the church be made known to the rulers and authorities in heaven, in accordance with the eternal purpose which God executed in the gift of Christ Jesus our Lord.
to whom God has chosen to make known how glorious are the riches of this open secret among the heathen, namely, Christ in you the hope of your glorification.
because I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of Him who sent me.
Then He walked on a few steps and threw Himself upon His face, and in this attitude continued to pray, and say, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass by me; and yet, I pray, not what I want but what you want."
and He was saying, "Abba [which means 'Father'], anything is possible for you! Take this cup away from me! Yet, I pray, not what I want but what you want!"
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Yet, not my will but always yours be done!"
Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to finish His work.
I cannot do anything by myself. As I get orders, so I judge, and my judgment is a just one, for I am not trying to do my own will but the will of Him who has sent me.
Then I said, 'See, I have come, just as the Scripture writes about me in the book, O God, to do your will.'"
spiritual blessing and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, to save us from the present wicked world in accordance with the will of our God and Father;
this very Jesus, I say, after He was betrayed, in accordance with the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you had wicked men kill by nailing Him to a cross;
for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead peaceful, quiet lives in perfect piety and seriousness. This is the right thing to do and it pleases God our Saviour,
who is ever willing for all mankind to be saved and to come to an increasing knowledge of the truth.
Just so it is not the will of my Father in heaven that a single one of these little ones be lost.
"For God loved the world so much that He gave His Only Son, so that anyone who trusts in Him may never perish but have eternal life. For God sent His Son into the world, not to pass sentence on it, but that the world through Him might be saved.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, in the sense in which some think of slowness, but He is really dealing patiently with you, because He is not willing for any to perish but for all to have an opportunity to repent?
And one of their number, an expert in the law, to tempt Him, asked, "Teacher, what sort of command is greatest in the law?" And He answered him, "'You must love the Lord your God with your whole heart, your whole soul, and your whole mind.'read more.
This is the greatest command, and is first in importance.
Then one of the scribes, on hearing them arguing, came up, and since he saw that Jesus had answered them properly, he asked Him, "What sort of command is the first of all commands?" Jesus answered, "The first one is, 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord,
Then he answered, "You must love the Lord your God with your whole heart, your whole soul, your whole strength, and your whole mind, and your neighbor as you do yourself."
but whoever practices obedience to His message really has a perfect love of God in his heart. By this we can be sure that we are in union with Him:
But you are the chosen race, the royal priesthood, the consecrated nation, the people to be His very own, to proclaim the perfections of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
Make it a habit to give thanks for everything, for this is God's will for you through Christ Jesus.
