As they were walking along the road up to Jerusalem, Jesus was going on ahead of them, but they were dazed while those who were still following were afraid. Then again He took the Twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to befall Him.
And as Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside, and said to them while on the road, "Listen! Besides all other things, there is my concern for all the churches.
About three Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God! My God! why have you forsaken me?"
At twelve o'clock darkness covered the whole land and lasted until three in the afternoon. And at three o'clock Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Eloi! Eloi! lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God! my God! why have you forsaken me?"
Then Jesus was guided by the Spirit into the desert, to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, He at last felt hungry.
Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and for forty days He was led about in the desert under the Spirit's guidance, while He was being tempted by the devil. During that time He ate nothing, and so at the end of it He felt hungry.
After He had dismissed the crowds, He went up the hill alone to pray. And after the evening came on, He was there alone,
Then all the people in the synagogue, on hearing these things, were filled with fury, and they rose up and drove Him out of town and took Him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, to hurl Him down the cliff. But He Himself passed through the midst of them and went on His way.
Listen! A time is coming, yea, it is right here, when you will all be scattered to your homes and will leave me alone. And yet, I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
But whenever you, follower of mine, pray, you must go to your most private place, shut the door, and pray to your Father in secret, and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you.
Then He walked on a few steps and threw Himself upon His face, and in this attitude continued to pray, and say, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass by me; and yet, I pray, not what I want but what you want."
Early in the morning, long before daybreak, He got up and went out to a lonely spot, and stayed praying there.
Then He insisted that the disciples at once get into their boat and cross ahead of Him toward Bethsaida, while He was sending the crowd away. After He had told them "Goodbye," He went up the hill to pray.
I, John, your brother and companion with you in the trouble, the kingdom, and the patient endurance which Jesus gives, found myself on the island called Patmos, for preaching God's message and testifying to Jesus.
Six days after this, Jesus took Peter, James, and John with Him, and led them up on a high mountain, alone by themselves. And in their presence His appearance was changed,

I know a man in union with Christ fourteen years ago -- whether in the body or out of it, I do not know, but God knows -- who was caught up to the third heaven. Yes, I know that this man -- whether in or out of the body, I do not know, but God knows -- was actually caught up into paradise, and heard things that must not be told, which no man has a right even to mention.
And He said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and rest a little while." For there was an endless stream of people coming and going, and they had no time even to eat. So they got off in their boat to be by themselves in a quiet place.
Come to me, all of you who toil and carry burdens, and I, yes, I, will lead you into rest.
