He said also, A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of the property that falleth to me. And he divided to them his living.
lest there be any fornicator, or profane person as Esau, who for one meal sold even his birthright.
hath at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, by whom he also made the worlds,
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, All power was given to me in heaven and on earth.
He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
And again, when he hath brought in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith: "And let all the angels of God pay him homage."
And afterward he sent to them his son, saying, They will respect my son. But the husbandmen, when they saw the son, said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and get his inheritance. And they took him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
Still he had one beloved son; he sent him last to them, saying, They will respect my son. But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours. And they took him and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.
And the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him. But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; let us kill him, that the inheritance may become ours. So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What then will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
By faith Noah, being warned by God of things not yet seen, moved with fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his house; by which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
He hath given help to Israel his servant, in remembrance of his mercy toward Abraham and his offspring for ever, as he spoke to our fathers.
By faith Abraham, when called, obeyed to go forth to a place which he was afterward to receive for an inheritance, and went forth, not knowing whither he was going. By faith he sojourned in the land of the promise, as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;
Ye are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, "And in thy posterity shall all the families of the earth be blessed."
Great, every way. In the first place, because they were entrusted with the oracles of God.
and if ye belong to Christ, then are ye Abrahams offspring, heirs according to the promise.
For not through the Law was the promise made to Abraham or his offspring that he should be the heir of the world, but through the righteousness of faith. For if they that are of the Law are heirs, then faith becometh a vain thing, and the promise is made of no effect. For the Law is the cause of wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.read more.
Therefore the inheritance was made to depend on faith, that it might be a matter of grace; that the promise might be sure to all the offspring, not to that only which is under the Law, but to that also which hath the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all (as it is written, "I have made thee a father of many nations") in the sight of that God whom he believed, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were.
Wherefore God, wishing more abundantly to show to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his purpose, confirmed it by an oath,
And for this cause he is the mediator of a new covenant, that, death having taken place for redemption from the transgressions under the first covenant, they who have been called may receive the everlasting inheritance which was promised.
for if the inheritance cometh from the Law, it ceaseth to be the consequence of the promise; but to Abraham God gave it by promise.
giving thanks to the Father, who enabled us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light;
and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and fellowheirs with Christ; if indeed we are suffering with him, that we may also be glorified with him.
Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth in no respect from a bondservant, though he is lord of all; but is under guardians and stewards, until the time appointed by the father. So also we, when we were children, were in bondage under the rudiments of the world;read more.
but when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, to redeem those under the Law, that we might be adopted as sons. And to show that ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father! So then thou art no longer a bondservant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
and to the church of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven; and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect;
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
that having been accepted as righteous by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of everlasting life.
Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his abundant mercy, begot us again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance imperishable, and undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you,
Then will the king say to those on his right hand, Come, ye blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
So then let no one glory in men. For all things are yours; whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come,all are yours;
as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and possessing all things.
He that overcometh shall inherit these things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Dwell likewise, O husband, with thy wife according to knowledge, as with the weaker vessel, giving her honor as being heir with thee of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
And I appoint to you a kingdom, as my Father appointed to me; that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit with me on my throne, even as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.
