And going on thence a little, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, and these were in the ship repairing the trawl-nets; and straightway he called them; and leaving their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, they went away after him.

But another of his disciples said to him, Lord, suffer me first to go away and bury my father. But Jesus said to him, Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.
And it came to pass as they went in the way, one said to him, I will follow thee wheresoever thou goest, Lord. But Jesus said to him, Suffer the dead to bury their own dead, but do thou go and announce the kingdom of God.
And Jesus, passing on thence, saw a man sitting at the tax-office, called Matthew, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.
And passing by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax-office, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.
But he said this signifying by what death he should glorify God. And having said this, he says to him, Follow me.
And he said to them all, If any one will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me;
And great crowds went with him; and, turning round, he said to them, If any man come to me, and shall not hate his own father and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life too, he cannot be my disciple; and whoever does not carry his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.
Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
If any one serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also shall be my servant. And if any one serve me, him shall the Father honour.
