You husbands, do you on your part behave with prudence towards your wives: who being of a more delicate make, ought to be treated with the greater tenderness: and consider they are equally intitled to the evangelical gifts, that your prayers may not be frustrated.

You husband, love your spouse, even as Christ loved the church, and laid down his life for her:

husbands, love your wives, and do not exasperate them.

but if she has separated herself, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. But as to the other cases, which were not decided by the Lord; I say, if any brother has a pagan wife, who likes to live with him, let him not put her away.
