"The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers--it is to him you shall listen--

And they told him, "John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets."
And they answered, "John the Baptist. But others say, Elijah, and others, that one of the prophets of old has risen."
They asked him, "Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?"
They replied, "Are you from Galilee too? Search and see that no prophet arises from Galilee."
Now when the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would have known who and what sort of woman this is who is touching him, for she is a sinner."
And he said, "Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.
And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to strike him, saying to him, "Prophesy!" And the guards received him with blows.
