I am glad to be consciously weak, if you are really strong. This is my continual prayer, the perfecting of your characters.
I am now glad to be suffering for you, and in my own person I am filling in what is lacking in Christ's sufferings for His body, that is, the church.

So, if there is any appeal in our union with Christ, if there is any persuasive power in love, if we have any common share in the Spirit, if you have any tenderheartedness and sympathy, fill up my cup of joy by living in harmony, by fostering the same disposition of love, your hearts beating in unison, your minds set on one purpose.
and always do it with joy in every entreaty I make for all of you, for your cooperation in spreading the good news, from the first day you heard it until now. For I am certain of this very thing, that He who began the good work in you will go on until the day of Jesus Christ to complete it.
