At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes. Even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered to me by my Father; and no one knoweth the Son but the Father; neither knoweth any one the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son is pleased to reveal him.

Yet in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, that your names are written in heaven. For those things of him which are invisible, both his eternal power and Godhead, are clearly seen from the creation of the world, being understood by the things which are made, so that they are without excuse:

in that he did good, giving rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling their hearts with food and gladness.

God who made the world and all things therein, being the Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands. Neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed any thing, he himself giving to all life and breath, and all things. For the righteousness of God is revealed therein from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

This is the word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching the glad tidings of peace through Jesus Christ; He is Lord of all.

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

That their hearts may be comforted, being knit together in love, even unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, unto the acknowledgment of the mystery of God,

not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus, before the world began; But is now made manifest, by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

Who verily was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but was manifested in these last times for you, Who thro' him believe in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, that your faith and hope, might be in God.

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, through the knowledge of him.

to remain with you for ever, Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him. But ye know him; for he remaineth with you, and shall be in you.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.

I have yet many things to say to you; but ye cannot bear them now. But when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak of himself: but whatsoever he shall hear, he will speak; and he will shew you things to come. All things that the Father hath, are mine: therefore I said, He will take of mine, and shew it you.

And while they were praying, the place in which they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and spake the word of God with boldness.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor hath ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them to us by his Spirit; for the Spirit searcheth all things, even the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, but the spirit of a man which is in him? So the things of God also knoweth no one, but the Spirit of God.

For to one is given by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another by the same Spirit, the word of knowledge;

To whom it was revealed, that not for themselves, but for us they ministered the things which have been now declared to you by them that have preached the gospel to you, with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven: which things angels desire to look into.

For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication; That every one of you know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in passionate desire, as the Gentiles who know not God.

He that loveth not, knoweth not God; for God is love.
