In the beginning existed the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him, and without him was not one single thing made that was made.

And the Word was made flesh, and tabernacled among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.

God who at sundry times and in divers manners spake of old to the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken to us by his Son; Whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom he also made the worlds:

Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doth them, I will shew you to whom he is like. He is like a man, who built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream broke vehemently upon that house, but could not shake it; for it was founded on a rock. But he who received the seed in stony places, is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy. Yet hath he not root in himself, and so endureth but for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straight-way he is offended. He that received the seed among the thorns, is he that heareth the word: and the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.read more.

Jesus answered and said to him, If any man love me, he will keep my words; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not, keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

Now ye are pure thro' the word which I have spoken to you.

I have manifested thy name to the men whom thou hast given me out of the world. Thine they were, and thou hast given them me, and they have kept thy word. Now they know, that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given them the words which thou gavest me, and they have received them, and have known surely, that I came forth from thee, and they have believed that thou hast sent me.

And while they were praying, the place in which they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and spake the word of God with boldness.

And the next sabbath almost the whole city was gathered together, to hear the word of God. But the Jews seeing the multitudes, were filled with zeal, and spake against the things spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. Then Paul and Barnabas speaking boldly, said, It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but seeing ye thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold! we turn to the Gentiles.

And this was done for the space of two years, so that all the inhabitants of Asia, both Jews and Greeks, heard the word of the Lord.

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life precious to myself, so I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

For unto us hath the gospel been preached as well as unto them; but the word heard did not profit them, not being mixt with faith in those that heard it.

But he answering said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Jesus answered and said to him, If any man love me, he will keep my words; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not, keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

Sanctify them thro' the truth: thy word is truth.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder both of the soul and spirit, both of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not grievous.

But I say to you, That every idle word which men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, or by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

My brethren, be not many teachers, knowing that we shall receive greater condemnation. For in many things we offend all. If any one offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. Behold we put bits into the horses mouths, that they may obey us, and we turn about their whole body.read more.

So the tongue also is a little member, yet boasteth great things. Behold how much matter a little fire kindleth. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send out of the same place sweet water and bitter? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries, or a vine figs? So can no fountain yield salt water and fresh.
