Wherefore by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified before Him: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

We, who are Jews by birth, and not sinners of the gentiles, knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

and by Him every one that believeth is justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

For the promise made to Abraham, or to his seed, that he should be heir of the world, was not by the law, but by the righteousness of faith: for if they only that are of the law be heirs, faith is made useless, and the promise is become of no effect. Now the law made some entrance, that the offence might appear to abound; but where sin abounded, grace hath superabounded; that as sin had reigned in death,

knowing this, that a law does not lie against a righteous person, but against the lawless and unruly, the impious and wicked, the unholy and profane, parricides, murderers, whoremongers, sodomites, kidnappers, liars, false-swearers, and if there be any thing else contrary to that sound doctrine,

Every one that committeth sin, transgresseth the law; for sin is the violation of the law.

So that the law was our guide to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Therefore we conclude, that a man is justified by faith, without the works of the law:

And that by the law no one is justified before God is evident; for it is written "The just shall live by faith:"

What shall we say then that Abraham our father obtained according to the flesh? for if Abraham were justified by works, he hath something to boast of; but this he hath not before God: for what saith the scripture? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness."read more.
Now to him that worketh the reward is not reckoned as a favor, but as a debt: but to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.

For as many as are of the works of the law, are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed be every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, having been made a curse for us: for it is written, "Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:" that the blessing of Abraham might come on the gentiles by Christ Jesus; that we through faith might receive the promise of the Spirit.

having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that He might form the two into one new man, in Himself, so making peace;

For sin taking occasion by the commandment deceived me, and by it slew me. So that the law is holy; and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

but as He who hath called you is holy, be ye also holy in all your conversation: since it is written, Be ye holy, for I am holy.

What shall we say then? is the law sin? God forbid! Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust to be sinful, if the law had not said, "Thou shalt not covet." Owe no one any thing, but to love one another; for he that loveth others hath fulfilled the law: for this command, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet, and every other social precept, is summed up in this, namely, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." Love worketh no evil to our neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

If ye fulfil the royal law, according to the scripture, which saith, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well. But if ye partially respect persons, ye commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. For that which was impossible for the law to do, and in which it was weak through the corruption of the flesh, God by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sacrifice for sin, hath done; that is, hath condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law may be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only abuse not this liberty for an occasion to indulge the flesh, but by mutual love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one precept, even in this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not destroyed by one another.read more.
I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye will not fulfil the desire of the flesh: for the flesh desireth things contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit things contrary to the flesh: and these are opposite to each other; so that ye do not those things which ye would. But if ye be led by the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
