My son, keep thy father's commandments, and forsake not the law of thy mother.

But Esther showed not her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her, that she should not tell it.

This I say of favour, not of commandment.

This say I not as commanding: but because others are so fervent, therefore prove I your love, whether it be perfect or no.

We require you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh inordinately, and not after the institution which ye received of us.

For when we were with you, this we warned you of, that if there were any which would not work, that the same should not eat.

Them that are such, we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness, and eat their own bread.

Such things command and teach.

And these things command, that they may be without fault.

I testify before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without hasty judgment, and do nothing partially.

and not taking heed to Jews fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

Wherefore though I be bold in Christ to enjoin thee, that which becometh thee;
