So are ye, for outward ye appear righteous unto men, when within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

He came up as a spray before him, and as a root out of a dry land. There was neither fashion or beauty on him. And when we looked on him, there was no godliness that we should lust after him. He was despised and cast out of men's company; and one that had suffered sorrow, and had experience of infirmity. And we were as one that had hid his face from him.

For these false apostles are deceitful workers, and fashion themselves like unto the apostles of Christ. And no marvel, for Satan himself is changed into the fashion of an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing, though his ministers fashion themselves as though they were the ministers of righteousness: whose end shall be according to their deeds.

which things have the similitude of wisdom in chosen holiness, and humbleness, and in that they spare not the body - and do the flesh no worship unto his need.

Be not forgetful to lodge strangers. For thereby have divers received angels into their houses unawares.

If a man on the Sabbath day receive circumcision without breaking of the law of Moses: Disdain ye at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the Sabbath day? Judge not after the outer appearance: but judge righteous judgment."

All these things heard the Pharisees also which were covetous. And they mocked him, and he said unto them, "Ye are they, which justify yourselves before men: but God knoweth your hearts. For that which is highly esteemed among men is abominable in the sight of God.

Ye judge after the flesh. I judge no man.

Look ye on things after the outer appearance? If any man trust in himself that he is Christ's, let the same also consider of himself, that as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.

Brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ the Lord of glory in respect of persons. are ye not even partial in your selves, and have judged after evil thoughts?

because thou sayest thou art rich and increased with goods, and hast need of nothing, and knowest not how thou art wretched and miserable, poor, blind, and naked.

And when they were come, he looked on Eliab and said, "The LORD's anointed is before him." But the LORD said unto Samuel, "Look not on his fashion nor on the height of his stature, for I have refused him. Because it is not as man seeth. For man looketh on the outward appearance: but the LORD beholdeth the heart."

And be merciful, and work, and give every man according to his ways - even as thou only knowest every man's heart, for thou knowest the hearts of all the children of Adam -

thou shalt hear from heaven thy dwelling place, and shalt be merciful, and give every man according unto all his way, even as thou shalt know every man's heart: for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of Adam:

We praise not ourselves again unto you, but give you an occasion to rejoice of us, that ye may have somewhat against them, which rejoice in the face, and not in the heart.

As many as desire with outward appearance to please carnally, they constrain you to be circumcised, only because they would not suffer persecution with the cross of Christ.

Wherefore, we are not wearied: but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our exceeding tribulation, which is momentary and light, prepareth an exceeding and eternal weight of glory unto us, while we look not on the things which are seen, but on the things which are not seen. For things which are seen, are temporal: but things which are not seen are eternal.

But lo, thou hast a pleasure in the truth, and hast showed me secret wisdom.

He hath no pleasure in the strength of a horse, neither delighteth he in any man's legs. But the LORD's delight is in them that fear him, and put their trust in his mercy.

For he is not a Jew, which is a Jew outward. Neither is that thing circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew which is hid within, and the circumcision of the heart is the true circumcision, which is in the spirit, and not in the letter: whose praise is not of men but of God.

The name of the man was Nabal, and the name of his wife was Abigail: and she was a woman of good wisdom and beautiful. But the man was churlish and of shrewd conditions and was a Calebite.
