He who forgives an affront fosters love, but he who waits on a matter will alienate a friend.
[it] does not behave dishonorably, [it] {is not selfish}, [it] does not become angry, [it] does not keep a record of wrongs,
Above all, keep your love for one another constant, because love covers a large number of sins.
The understanding of a person makes him slow to his {anger}, and his glory overlooks offense.

Then his master summoned him [and] said to him, 'Wicked slave! I forgave you all that debt because you implored me!
"At the end of seven years you shall grant remission of debt.
{Take care} so that there will not be {a thought of wickedness} in your heart, {saying}, 'The seventh year, the year of the remission of debt is near,' {and you view your needy neighbor with hostility}, and [so] you [do] not give to him, and he might cry [out] against you to Yahweh, and {you would incur guilt against yourself}.
Then Moses commanded them, {saying}, "At the end of seven years, in the time of the year for canceling debts during the Feast of Booths,
So the master of that slave, [because he] had compassion, released him and forgave him the loan.
[When] they were not able to repay [him], he forgave [the debts] of both. Now which of them will love him more?"
Simon answered [and] said, "I suppose that [it is the one] to whom he forgave more." And he said to him, "You have judged correctly."
Now to whomever you forgive anything, I also [do]; for indeed, whatever I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, [it is] {for your sake} in the presence of Christ,
