Blessed [is] the person who endures testing, because [when he] is approved he will receive the crown of life that he has promised to those who love him.
[No], but in all these [things] we prevail completely through the one who loved us.
For in that which he himself suffered [when he] was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
For we do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our weaknesses, but who has been tempted in all [things] in the same way, without sin. Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Consider [it] all joy, my brothers, whenever you encounter various trials, [because you] know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one [who is] in you is greater than the one [who is] in the world.

But you, O man of God, flee from these [things], and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patient endurance, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Therefore subject yourselves to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

But he answered [and] said, "It is written, 'Man will not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God."
And Jesus replied to him, "It is written, 'Man will not live on bread alone.'"
Jesus said to him, "On the other hand it is written, 'You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.'"
And Jesus answered [and] said to him, "It is said, 'You are not to put to the test the Lord your God.'"
Then Jesus said to him, "Go away, Satan, for it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God and serve only him.'"
And Jesus answered [and] said to him, "It is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.'"
