We are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren, as it is right, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all toward each other abounds:
Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them, that your advancement may be manifest in all things.
so, even for this very purpose, uniting to these things all diligence, add to your faith, virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; and to knowledge, temperance; and to temperance, patience; and to patience, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
Abide in me, and I will abide in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me.
but speaking truthfully in love, we might grow up in all things, into him who is the head, even the Christ,
For I have given you an example, that you also may do as I have done for you.
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may learn what the will of God is the good, and the acceptable, and the perfect.

He that says, he abides in him, ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
I have written to you, fathers, because you have known him that is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit is, willing, but the flesh is weak.
Debar not one another, unless by agreement for a time, that you may have leisure for prayer; and come together again, lest Satan tempt you through your incontinence.
No trial has come upon you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tried more than you are able to bear; but he will, with the trial, make a way to escape, so that you be able to bear up under it.
For this reason, when I could no longer contain my self, I sent to know your faith, lest by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor should be in vain.
For, inasmuch as he himself has suffered in being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
My brethren, count it all joy, when you fall into manifold trials, knowing that the trial of your faith produces patience.
Because you have kept the word of my patience, I also will keep you from the hour of trial that is about to come on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold on eternal life, to which you have been called, and for which you confessed the good confession before many witnesses.
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons: for what son is there whose father chastens him not? But if you are without chastisement, of which all are par takers, then are you bastards, and not sons. So, then, we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we reverenced them; shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of our spirits, and live?read more.
For they, indeed, for a few days, chastened us as they thought it good; but he chastens us for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness. But no chastisement seems, at the time, to be a matter of joy, but of grief: yet afterward, it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who are exercised by it.

I say this: Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh. For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit, and the desire of the Spirit is against flesh; and these are opposed, the one to the other, so that you can not do what you would. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
For our gospel came not to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in full assurance, as you know what sort of persons we were among you for your sakes.
I charge you, therefore, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom, preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound teaching, but according to their own desires they will pro cure for themselves an abundance of teachers to gratify their itching ears:
For though you ought to be teachers, considering the time, yet you have need that some one teach you again what are the first elements of the oracles of God; and you have be come such as have need of milk, and not of strong food.
as new-born babes, earnestly desire the pure spiritual milk, that you may grow by it,
And the child grew and became strong in spirit; and he was in the deserts till the day of his manifestation to Israel.
And the child grew, and became strong in spirit, being filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon him.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
And we all, with unvailed face, reflecting the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image, from glory to glory, even as by the Lord the Spirit.
And he himself gave some to be apostles, and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the complete instruction of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of the Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature that fully develops the Christ;read more.

since we heard of your faithfulness in Christ Jesus, and your love for all the saints, in consequence of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,
(Now the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and out of a good conscience, and out of faith unfeigned:
Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to all men: the Lord is at hand. Be anxious about nothing, but in every thing, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God:read more.

And he brought them into his house, and set food before them, and rejoiced, believing in God, with all his house.
Beloved, be not amazed at the fiery trial that has come on you to try you, as if some strange thing had happened to you. But, inasmuch as you are partakers of the sufferings of the Christ,, rejoice, that, at the revelation of his glory, you may also be exceedingly joyful.
that you may not become slothful, but imitators of those who, through faith and patience, inherit the promises.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, having on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation:
Hold fast the form of sound words which you have heard from me, in faithfulness and in love which is in Christ Jesus.
If any one leads into captivity, he shall go into captivity. If any kills with the sword, he must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and faithfulness of the saints.
