But certain of the scribes were sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies?

And Jesus immediately knowing in his spirit, that they so reasoned in themselves, said to them, Why reason ye thus in your hearts?

And preaching boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, he disputed with the Hellenists: but they attempted to kill him:

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

Because knowing God, they did not glorify him as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their reasonings, and their foolish heart was darkened.

And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

When I was a child, I talked as a child, I understood as a child, I reasoned as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
