The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures forever.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And his delight shall be in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.
Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. O Lord, I beseech you, let now your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants, who desire to fear your name: and prosper, I pray you, your servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.
Like as a father pities his children, so the LORD pities them that fear him.
And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of your times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.
The angel of the LORD encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them.
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season: he reserves unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest. Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withheld good things from you.
And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
What man is he that fears the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease; and his descendants shall inherit the earth.
By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life.
But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and grow up like calves of the stall.
If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD YOUR GOD; Then the LORD will make your plagues abundant, and the plagues of your descendants, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and severe sicknesses, of long continuance. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon you, until you are destroyed. And you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God. And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land where you go to possess it. And the LORD shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known, even wood and stone. And among these nations shall you find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest: but the LORD shall give you there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: And your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you shall fear day and night, and shall have no assurance of your life: In the morning you shall say, Would God it were evening! and at evening you shall say, Would God it were morning! because of the fear of your heart by which you shall fear, and because of the sight of your eyes which you shall see.
The fear of the LORD prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
The fear of the LORD leads to life: and he that has it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
Let not your heart envy sinners: but be in the fear of the LORD all the day long. For surely there is a future hope; and your expectation shall not be cut off.
And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honor before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I provide for it.
Then had the churches rest throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, were multiplied.
