A Song of degrees. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.

And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

And the spirit of the LORD will rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And will make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he will not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.

Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thy ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cup-bearer.

Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.

And his mercy is on them that fear him, from generation to generation.

Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

The angel of the LORD encampeth around them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.

O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

He hath given food to them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in its season: he reserveth to us the appointed weeks of harvest. Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withheld good things from you.

And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for naught?

What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honor, and life.

But to you that fear my name, shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and severe sicknesses, and of long continuance. And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have no assurance of thy life: In the morning thou shalt say, O that it were evening, and at evening thou shalt say, O that it were morning! for the fear of thy heart with which thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thy eyes which thou shalt see.

The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Let not thy heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do to them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure to it.

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.

And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and, as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.

Then had the churches rest throughout all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria, and were edified: and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, were multiplied.
