Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbor: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yes, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.

And we know that the Son of God hath come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of ingenious inventions. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

Behold, I have taught you statutes, and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which will hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye may be filled with all the fullness of God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

When wisdom entereth into thy heart, and knowledge is pleasant to thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; read more.

Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness, and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Because that which may be known of God, is manifest in them; for God hath shown it to them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold? and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver?

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Understanding is a well-spring of life to him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

Good understanding giveth favor: but the way of transgressors is hard.

The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may reveal itself.

O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

Trust in the LORD with all thy heart; and lean not to thy own understanding.

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Say to wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:
