But God, being rich in mercy, through his great love that he loved us, even us being dead in the transgressions, he made alive together with the Christ (ye are saved by grace),

he saved us, not of works in righteousness that we did, but according to his mercy through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, which he poured out upon us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Savior.

because the good-news from us happened to you not in word only, but also in power, and in Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, as ye know what kind of men we became among you, because of you.
