but what, said he, do you take me to be? Simon Peter made answer, thou art Christ the son of the living God. to whom Jesus reply'd, blessed art thou Simon, son of Jona: for 'tis not man that hath revealed this unto thee, but my father who is in heaven.
then he open'd their minds to make them understand the scriptures, and said to them, thus it is written, and thus it behov'd Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
