Forever since the creation of the world, His invisible characteristics -- His eternal power and divine nature -- have been made intelligible and clearly visible by His works. So they are without excuse,
but in these latter days He has spoken to us through a Son, whom He had appointed lawful owner of everything, and through whom He had made the worlds. He is the reflection of God's glory and the perfect representation of His being, and continues to uphold the universe by His mighty word. After He had procured man's purification from sins, He took His seat at the right hand of God's majesty,
From one forefather He made every nation of mankind, for living all over the face of the earth, fixing their appointed times and the limits of their lands,
in union with whom we were made God's portion, since we had been foreordained in accordance with the purpose of Him who in everything carries out the plan of His will,
and how surpassingly great is His power for us who believe, measured by His tremendously mighty power when He raised Christ from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in heaven,
but He said to me, "My spiritual strength is sufficient, for it is only by means of conscious weakness that perfect power is developed." So I most happily boast about my weaknesses, so that the strength of Christ may overshadow me. That is why I take such pleasure in weaknesses, insults, distresses, persecution, and difficulties, which I endure for Christ's sake, for it is when I am consciously weak that I am really strong.
For though He was crucified in weakness, yet by the power of God He goes on living. We too, indeed, show weakness through our union with Him, yet by the power of God we too shall be alive toward you through fellowship with Him.
It is so, because God's nonsense is wiser than men's wisdom, and God's weakness is mightier than men's might. For consider, brothers, the way God called you; that not many of you, in accordance with human standards, were wise, not many influential, not many of high birth. Just the opposite: God chose what the world calls foolish to put the wise to shame, what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame,
stopped the force of fire, escaped from dying by the sword, out of weakness found great strength, grew mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.
The kings of the earth, the great men, the military leaders, the rich, the mighty -- everybody, whether slaves or free hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. And they said to the mountains and the rocks: "Fall on us and conceal us from the sight of Him who is seated on the throne, and from the anger of the Lamb, because the great day of their anger has come, and who can stand it?"

But by the same command the present heavens and earth are stored up for fire and are kept for the day when godless men are to be doomed and destroyed.
When He broke the sixth seal, I looked, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun turned black as sackcloth, and the full moon became like blood, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, just as a fig tree, when shaken by a violent wind, drops its unripe figs. The sky was swept away just like a scroll that is rolled up; and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.
for this very reason her plagues will overtake her in a single day, death, grief, and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; because the Lord who has judged her is mighty.
and I give to them eternal life, and they shall never get lost, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. My father who gave them to me is stronger than all, and no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.
Yes, we know that all things go on working together for the good of those who keep on loving God, who are called in accordance with God's purpose.
