and he not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.
And we know that all things are working together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose;
But some one will say, "How are the dead raised? and with what kind of body do they come?" Foolish one! that which you sow is not made alive, except it die; and that which you sow, you sow not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may be of wheat, or of some other kind;read more.
but God giveth it a body, even as He willed, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. All flesh is not the same flesh; but there is, indeed, one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial; but the glory of the celestial is one, and that of the terrestrial another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So also it has been written, "The first man Adam was a living soul"; the last Adam, a life-giving Spirit. And the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. The first man is of the earth earthy; the second Man is from Heaven. As was the earthy, such also are the earthy; and as is the Heavenly, such also are the heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the Heavenly. And this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. And, when this corruptible shall put on incorruption, and this mortal shall put on immortality, then will come to pass the saying that has been written, "Death was swallowed up in victory." Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law: but thanks be to God, Who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Therefore, my beloved brethren, become steadfast, immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Wherefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, they have become new.
A temptation has not taken you, except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able, but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
These things have I spoken to you, that in Me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."
He who says that he is abiding in Him ought himself also to walk even as He walked.
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, through the mercies of God, to present, your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your rational service; and he not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.
Even so reckon ye also yourselves dead, indeed, to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
for we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God before prepared, that we should walk in them.
that ye put off, as to your former manner of life, the old man, who is corrupt according to the desires of deceit;
that ye put off, as to your former manner of life, the old man, who is corrupt according to the desires of deceit; and that ye be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, who after God was created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
Become ye, therefore, imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, as Christ also loved you, and delivered Himself up for you, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of sweet smell.
"Peace I leave for you; My own peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled; neither let it be fearful.
Brethren, I do not account myself to have laid hold of it; but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and reaching forth to the things before. I am pressing on toward the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Beloved, now are we children of God, and never yet was it manifested what we shall be. We know that, if He shall be manifested, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. And every one that has this hope on Him purifies himself, even as He is pure.
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, reflecting as a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transfigured into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
And it came to pass, about eight days after these words, that, taking Peter, and John, and James, He went up into the mountain to pray. And it came to pass, as He was praying, that the appearance of His countenance was altered, and His raiment became white and dazzling. And, behold, two men were talking with Him, who, indeed, were Moses and Elijah;read more.
who, appearing in glory, were speaking of His departure which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. Now Peter and those with him had become heavy with sleep; but, having watched through it, they saw His glory, and the two men who were standing with Him.
and He was transfigured before them; and His face shone as the sun, and His garments became white as the light. And, behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking with Him.
