Be not deceived; evil companionships corrupt good morals.

and he not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.

Adulteresses! know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever, therefore, purposes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

And we know that all things are working together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose;

for he is God's minister to you for good. But, if you do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger for wrath to him that does evil.

For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son; much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved by His life;

I am strong enough for all things in Him Who strengtheneth me.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strifes, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties, envyings, drunkenness, revelings, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, as I also said before, that those practicing such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.

And after these things Jesus was walking in Galilee: for He was not willing to walk in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill Him. Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand. for no one does anything in secret, and himself seeks to he known openly. If Thou doest these things, manifest Thyself to the world." For even His brethren did not believe on Him. Jesus, therefore, saith to them, "My time is not yet present; but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you; but Me it hates, because I testify concerning it, that its works are evil. Go ye up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because My time has not yet been fulfilled." And, having said these things to them, He abode in Galilee. But, when His brethren went up to the feast, then He also went up, not openly, but as it were in secret. The Jews, therefore, were seeking Him at the feast, and said, "Where is He?" And there was much murmuring about Him among the multitudes: some were saying, "He is a good Man;" others were saying, "Nay, but He is misleading the multitude." No one, however, was speaking openly concerning Him, for fear of the Jews.

and ye have forgotten the exhortation which, indeed, reasons with you as with sons: "My son, do not lightly regard the chastening of the Lord; neither faint, when reproved by Him; for whom the Lord loveth, He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He acknowledgeth." For chastening endure ye: God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father chastens not?read more.
But, if ye are without chastisement, of which all have become partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore, we used to have the fathers of our flesh as chasteners, and we reverenced them: shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of our spirits, and live? For they, indeed, for a few days were chastening us, according to what seemed good to them; but He for our profit, that we may partake of His holiness. All chastening, indeed, for the present seems not to be joyous, but grievous; but afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained thereby.

For I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all immersed unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and all ate the same spiritual food;read more.
and all drank the same spiritual drink; for they were drinking of the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was the Christ. But in the most of them God took no pleasure; for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things became types for us, that we might not covet evil things, as they also coveted. Neither become ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it has been written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play." Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Nor let us tempt the Lord, as some of them tempted Him, and perished by the serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer. Now these things were happening to them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, unto whom the ends of the ages have come. Wherefore, let him who thinks he is standing take heed, lest he fall.
