and that from childhood you have known the holy writings that are able [to make] you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture [is] inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, in order that the person of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the advice of [the] wicked; nor does he stand in [the] way of sinners; nor does he sit in [the] assembly of mockers. Instead, in the law of Yahweh [is] his delight, and on his law he meditates day and night. And so, he is like a tree planted by streams of water that gives its fruit in its season; its leaf also does not wither. Therefore all that he does prospers.

Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called [to be] an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which he promised previously through his prophets in the holy scriptures, concerning his Son, who was born {a descendant} of David according to the flesh,

For whatever was written beforehand was written for our instruction, in order that through patient endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

Now I make known to you, brothers, the gospel which I proclaimed to you, which you have also received, in which you also stand, by which you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the message I proclaimed to you, unless you believed to no purpose. and we possess [as] more reliable the prophetic word, to which you do well [if you] pay attention to [it] as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts,

But you, speak [the things] which are fitting for sound instruction.

Therefore, leaving behind the elementary message about Christ, let us move on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and faith in God, teaching about baptisms and laying on of hands, and resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment. And this we will do, if God permits.

Let my cry come before you, O Yahweh; give me understanding according to your word.

Your testimonies [are] my delight, {my counselors}.

But you continue in [the things] which you have learned and are convinced [of], [because you] know from whom you learned [them], and that from childhood you have known the holy writings that are able [to make] you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. The unfolding of your words gives light, giving understanding to [the] simple.

Your word [is] a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

And the one seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all [things] new!" And he said, "Write, because these words are faithful and true."

I will meditate on your precepts and look at your ways. I will take delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.

The scroll of this law will not depart from your mouth; you will meditate on it day and night so that {you may observe diligently all that is written} in it. For then you will succeed [in] your ways and prosper.
