Then said he, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou art persecuting: It is difficult for thee to kick against the goads.
But as I went and drew nigh to Damascus, at noon-day, suddenly there shone a great light from heaven around me. And I fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said to me, I am Jesus the Nazarean, whom thou persecutest.
And as we were all fallen prostrate on the earth, I heard a voice speaking to me, and saving in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is difficult for thee to kick against the goads.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, but all the members of that one body, though many, are one body: so also is Christ.
For as we have in one body many members, but the members, though many, have not the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one reciprocally members of each other. Having then different gifts according to the grace which is given unto us, if it be prophecy, speak according to the analogy of faith;read more.

So ought husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: for we are the members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
