Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.

In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

The smith with the tongs both worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with the strength of his arms: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth: he drinketh no water, and is faint. The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house. He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments. They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word. I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; read more.

Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.

O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
