Are not two sparrows sold for a far thing? and yet not one of them shall fall upon the ground with out your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows.

Verily, verily I say to you, he that goes not through the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief, and a robber. And when he puts his own sheep out, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him; for they know his voice. And a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him; for they know not the voice of strangers. This parable spoke Jesus to them; but they knew not the meaning of the things which he spoke to them. Therefore Jesus spoke again to them: Verily, verily I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All that came before me were thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: if any one enters through me, he shall be saved; and he shall go in and out, and find pasture.

for which cause I also suffer these things; yet I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have intrusted to him till that day.

And thou, Bethlehem, city of Judah, art by no means the least among the chiefs of Judah; for out of thee shall come a leader, that shall be a shepherd to my people Israel.

For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry: but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

What think you? If a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them go astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine, and go into the mountains, and seek for that which has gone astray?

What man of you that has a hundred sheep, and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the desert, and go after that which is lost, till he find it?

For you were like sheep that had gone astray; but now you have returned to the shepherd and bishop of your souls.

And when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were troubled and scattered as sheep that had no shepherd.
