And when he had entered the ship, he that had been possessed with the demons besought him that he might be with him. And he did not permit him, but said to him: Go home to your relatives, and make known to them what things the Lord has done for you, and that he has had compassion on you.

Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where we ought to worship. Jesus said to her: Woman, believe me, the hour is coming, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, will you worship the Father. You worship you know not what; we know what we worship; for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeks such to worship him. God is spirit; and they that worship him, must worship him in spirit and in truth. The woman said to him: I know that Messiah (who is called Christ) is coming; when he comes, he will tell us all things. Jesus said to her: I who speak to you am he.

And Philip ran forward, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah; and he said: Do you understand what you are reading? He answered: How can I, unless some one instruct me? And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. The passage of the scripture which he was reading, was this: As a sheep for the slaughter was he led; and as a lamb before his shearer is dumb, so opened he not his mouthread more.
