He asked her, "Please give me some water to drink, because I'm thirsty." Instead, she opened a leather container of milk, gave him a drink, and then covered him up.

That night God did as he asked. Only the fleece was dry and the ground around it was covered with dew.
But the princes of Succoth asked, "Are Zebah and Zalmunna now in your hands that we should give bread to your army?"
He went from there to Penuel and asked the same thing from them. The men of Penuel answered just as the men of Succoth had answered.
He asked Zebah and Zalmunna, "What kind of men did you kill at Tabor?" "They were like you," they said. "Each resembled the son of a king."
Then the men of Israel asked Gideon, "Rule over us you, your son, and your grandsons because you have delivered us from Midian's domination."
The weight of the rings that he had asked for was 1,700 gold coins, not counting the crescent-shaped necklaces, pendants, and purple garments worn by the Midian kings, and also not counting the bands adorning the necks of their camels.
But the olive tree asked them, "Should I stop producing my rich oils by which both God and men are honored and go take dominion over trees?'
But the fig tree asked them, "Should I leave my sweet, good fruit and go take dominion over trees?'
But the grape vine asked them, "Should I leave my new wine, which cheers God and man, and go take dominion over trees?'
When the Ammonites attacked, the leaders of Gilead asked Jephthah to come back from the land of Tob.
Then Jephthah asked the elders of Gilead, "If you all send me to fight against the Ammonites and the LORD hands them over right in front of me, will I really become your head?"
Israel sent a delegation to the king of Edom and asked him, "Please let us pass through your territory."
A little while later, the army of Ephraim was mustered, and they crossed to Zaphon. They confronted Jephthah and asked, "Why did you cross over to fight the Ammonites without calling us to accompany you? We're going to burn your house down around you!"
Jephthah said to them, "My people and I were entangled in controversy with the Ammonites. I asked for your help, but you did not deliver me from their power.

Then Manoah asked, "When Your words come true, what will the boy's responsibilities and mission be?"
Manoah asked the angel of the LORD, "What's your name, because when what you've said happens, we'll glorify you?"
"Why do you ask My name," the Angel of the Lord asked him, "since it is wonderful."
His father and mother asked him, "Isn't there a woman suitable among the daughters of your relatives or among all of our people, since you're going to get your wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?"
Then the Philistines asked, "Who did this?" They were told, "[It was] Samson, the Timnite's son-in-law, because he has taken Samson's wife and given her to another man." So the Philistines went to her and her father and burned [them] to death.
The leading men of Judah asked, "Why have you invaded us?" They replied, "We're here to arrest Samson. Then we're going to do to him what he did to us."
Then 3,000 men of Judah went to the cave at the rock of Etam, and they asked Samson, "Don't you realize that the Philistines rule over us? What have you done to us?" "I have done to them what they did to me," he answered.
So Delilah asked Samson, "Please tell me the secret to your great strength and how you may be tied up and tortured."
Some time later, she asked him, "How can you keep saying "I love you!' when your heart isn't with me? These three times you've lied to me and haven't told me where your great strength lies."
"Where do you come from?" Micah asked him. He answered him, "I am a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah, and I'm going to settle wherever I can find a place.
While they were near Micah's home, they recognized the speech of the young Levite. So they went over to him and asked, "Who brought you here? What are you doing in this place? What is keeping you here?"
When the men went back to their clans at Zorah and Eshtaol, their people asked them, "What did you find out?"
And they turned aside thither, and came to the house of the young Levite, at the home of Micah, and asked him of his welfare.

The Israelites asked, "Who of all the tribes of Israel didn't come to the Lord with the assembly?" For a great oath had been taken that anyone who had not come to the Lord at Mizpah would certainly be put to death.
They asked, "Which city among the tribes of Israel didn't come to the Lord at Mizpah?" It turned out that no one from Jabesh-gilead had come to the camp and the assembly.
