'Away' in the Bible
Immediately He called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and went away to follow Him.
But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.
“No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; otherwise the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear results.
And after the sun had risen, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
These are the ones who are beside the road where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word which has been sown in them.
and they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away.
For whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.”
Their herdsmen ran away and reported it in the city and in the country. And the people came to see what it was that had happened.
And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.
Immediately she came in a hurry to the king and asked, saying, “I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter.”
When his disciples heard about this, they came and took away his body and laid it in a tomb.
And He *said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.)
They went away in the boat to a secluded place by themselves.
send them away so that they may go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.”
Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side to Bethsaida, while He Himself was sending the crowd away.
And He said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:‘This people honors Me with their lips,But their heart is far away from Me.
Jesus got up and went away from there to the region of Tyre. And when He had entered a house, He wanted no one to know of it; yet He could not escape notice.
If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come from a great distance.”
Leaving them, He again embarked and went away to the other side.
They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.”
But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.
They went away and found a colt tied at the door, outside in the street; and they *untied it.
They took him, and beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
And they were seeking to seize Him, and yet they feared the people, for they understood that He spoke the parable against them. And so they left Him and went away.
Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.
It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay on the alert.
And Jesus *said to them, “You will all fall away, because it is written, ‘I will strike down the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.’
But Peter said to Him, “Even though all may fall away, yet I will not.”
Now he who was betraying Him had given them a signal, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the one; seize Him and lead Him away under guard.”
They led Jesus away to the high priest; and all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes *gathered together.
Early in the morning the chief priests with the elders and scribes and the whole Council, immediately held a consultation; and binding Jesus, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate.
The soldiers took Him away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium), and they *called together the whole Roman cohort.
They were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?”
Looking up, they *saw that the stone had been rolled away, although it was extremely large.
They went away and reported it to the others, but they did not believe them either.
