'Ceases' in the Bible
For the choir director; upon an eight-stringed lyre. A Psalm of David.Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases to be,For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.
Why do you make evil the foundation of your boasting, mighty one? God's gracious love never ceases.
Where there is no wood, a fire goes out, and where there is no gossip, contention ceases.
Earnestly remember your Creator before the silver cord [of life] is broken, or the golden bowl is crushed, or the pitcher at the fountain is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed;
Let my outcasts dwell with you! As for Moab, be a hiding place for him from the face of the destroyer. For the extortioner is brought to nothing. Destruction ceases. The oppressors are consumed out of the land.
The gaiety of tambourines ceases,The noise of revelers stops,The gaiety of the harp ceases.
For the ruthless is brought to nothing, and the scoffer ceases, and all those who are alert to do evil are cut off --
The highways are deserted, the traveler has ceased [to appear].The enemy has broken the covenant, he has rejected the cities,He has no regard for [any] man.
