'Dove' in the Bible
And {he sent out a dove} to see [whether] the waters had subsided from upon the ground.
But the dove did not find a resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned to him into the ark, for the waters [were still] on the face of the earth. And he stretched out his hand and took her, and brought her to himself into the ark.
And he waited another seven days, and {again he sent out} the dove from the ark.
And the dove came to him {in the evening}, and behold, a freshly-picked olive tree leaf [was] in her mouth. And Noah knew that the waters had subsided from upon the earth.
And he waited {seven more days}, and he sent out the dove. But it did not return again to him.
And at the fulfilling of the days of her cleansing, [whether] for a son or for a daughter, she must bring to the priest at the tent of assembly's entrance a {yearling} male lamb as a burnt offering and {young dove} or a turtledove as a sin offering.
So I say, "{Oh, that} I had wings like a dove. I would fly away and be at rest.
Though you [men] lie down between the sheepfolds, [you will be like the] wings of a dove covered in silver and its pinions in yellow gold."
Do not give to beasts the life of your dove; do not ever forget the life of your afflicted ones.
My dove, in the clefts of the rock, {in the secluded place} {in the mountain}, Let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice [is] sweet and your face [is] lovely.
I [was] asleep but my heart was awake. A sound! My beloved knocking! "Open to me, my sister, my beloved, my dove, my perfect one! For my head is full of dew, {my hair drenched from the moist night air}."
My dove, {she is the one}; my perfect, {she is the only one}; she [is] {the favorite of} her mother who bore her. Maidens see her and consider her fortunate; queens and concubines praise her:
Like a horse or a crane, so I chirp; I moan like dove. My eyes are weak toward the height. Lord, I have oppression; lend me support!
Leave [the] towns and dwell on the rock, O inhabitants of Moab, and be like [the] dove, it nests on [the] sides of [the] mouth of a ravine.
Ephraim was like a dove, silly, {without sense}; they call [to] Egypt, they go [to] Assyria.
Now [after he] was baptized, Jesus immediately went up from the water, and behold, the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove coming upon him.
And immediately [as he] was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens being split apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him.
and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased."
And John testified, saying, "I have seen the Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and remaining upon him.
