'Even' in the Bible
And the king said to Esther on the second day also as they drank their wine at the banquet, “What is your petition, Queen Esther? It shall be granted you. And what is your request? Even to half of the kingdom it shall be done.”
Now when the king returned from the palace garden into the place where they were drinking wine, Haman was falling on the couch where Esther was. Then the king said, “Will he even assault the queen with me in the house?” As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.
Even all the princes of the provinces, the satraps, the governors and those who were doing the king’s business assisted the Jews, because the dread of Mordecai had fallen on them.
The king said to Queen Esther, “The Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men and the ten sons of Haman at the citadel in Susa. What then have they done in the rest of the king’s provinces! Now what is your petition? It shall even be granted you. And what is your further request? It shall also be done.”
‘He puts no trust even in His servants;And against His angels He charges error.
“His sons are far from safety,They are even oppressed in the gate,And there is no deliverer.
“From six troubles He will deliver you,Even in seven evil will not touch you.
“You would even cast lots for the orphansAnd barter over your friend.
“Desist now, let there be no injustice;Even desist, my righteousness is yet in it.
“Are the consolations of God too small for you,Even the word spoken gently with you?
“Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven,And my advocate is on high.
“My days are past, my plans are torn apart,Even the wishes of my heart.
“Even if I have truly erred,My error lodges with me.
“Even young children despise me;I rise up and they speak against me.
“Even after my skin is destroyed,Yet from my flesh I shall see God;
“Therefore my disquieting thoughts make me respond,Even because of my inward agitation.
“He flies away like a dream, and they cannot find him;Even like a vision of the night he is chased away.
“He returns what he has attainedAnd cannot swallow it;As to the riches of his trading,He cannot even enjoy them.
“It is drawn forth and comes out of his back,Even the glittering point from his gall.Terrors come upon him,
“This is the wicked man’s portion from God,Even the heritage decreed to him by God.”
“Even when I remember, I am disturbed,And horror takes hold of my flesh.
“They say to God, ‘Depart from us!We do not even desire the knowledge of Your ways.
While another dies with a bitter soul,Never even tasting anything good.
“Even today my complaint is rebellion;His hand is heavy despite my groaning.
“They are exalted a little while, then they are gone;Moreover, they are brought low and like everything gathered up;Even like the heads of grain they are cut off.
“If even the moon has no brightnessAnd the stars are not pure in His sight,
“And now I have become their taunt,I have even become a byword to them.
“I even paid close attention to you;Indeed, there was no one who refuted Job,Not one of you who answered his words.
“Once I have spoken, and I will not answer;Even twice, and I will add nothing more.”
“Behold, your expectation is false;Will you be laid low even at the sight of him?
“His heart is as hard as a stone,Even as hard as a lower millstone.
The wicked will return to Sheol,Even all the nations who forget God.
They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt;There is no one who does good, not even one.
They cried for help, but there was none to save,Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them.
All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship,All those who go down to the dust will bow before Him,Even he who cannot keep his soul alive.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I fear no evil, for You are with me;Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
This is the generation of those who seek Him,Who seek Your face—even Jacob. Selah.
My heart throbs, my strength fails me;And the light of my eyes, even that has gone from me.

My soul is among lions;I must lie among those who breathe forth fire,Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrowsAnd their tongue a sharp sword.
On account of the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips,Let them even be caught in their pride,And on account of curses and lies which they utter.
You have ascended on high, You have led captive Your captives;You have received gifts among men,Even among the rebellious also, that the Lord God may dwell there.
Bless God in the congregations,Even the Lord, you who are of the fountain of Israel.
And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me,Until I declare Your strength to this generation,Your power to all who are to come.
I will also praise You with a harp,Even Your truth, O my God;To You I will sing praises with the lyre,O Holy One of Israel.
