You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered from thorns or figs from thistles, are they?
In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.
A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

After noticing a fig tree by the road he went to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. He said to it, "Never again will there be fruit from you!" And the fig tree withered at once.
For this reason I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
I tell you, from now on I will not drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom."
