'Grow' in the Bible
And [in that garden] the Lord God caused to grow from the ground every tree that is desirable and pleasing to the sight and good (suitable, pleasant) for food; the tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the [experiential] knowledge (recognition) of [the difference between] good and evil.
But you shall live by your sword,And serve your brother;However it shall come to pass when you break loose [from your anger and hatred],That you will tear his yoke off your neck [and you will be free of him].”
‘All the time of the vow of his separation no razor shall be used on his head. Until the time of his separation to the Lord is completed, he shall be holy, and shall let the hair of his head grow long.
But the hair of his head began to grow again after it had been shaved off.
Beware of being negligent in carrying out this matter. Why should damage increase to the detriment of the kings?”
“Can the papyrus grow up without a marsh?Can the rushes or reed grass grow without water?
“Nevertheless the righteous will hold to his ways,And he who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.
Let thorns grow instead of wheat,And stinkweed and cockleburs instead of barley.”So the words of Job [with his friends] are finished.
“Their young ones become strong, they grow up in the open field;They leave and do not return to them.
The righteous will flourish like the date palm [long-lived, upright and useful];They will grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic and stable].
He causes grass to grow for the cattle,And all that the earth produces for cultivation by man,So that he may bring food from the earth—
Who covers the heavens with clouds,Who provides rain for the earth,Who makes grass grow on the mountains.
“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine,He who feeds his flock among the lilies.”
Then a Shoot (the Messiah) will spring from the stock of Jesse [David’s father],And a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.
Do you not know? Have you not heard?The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earthDoes not become tired or grow weary;There is no searching of His understanding.
He cuts cedars for himself, and takes a cypress or an oak and lets it grow strong for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a fir, and the rain nourishes it.
You have planted them, they have also taken root;They grow, they have even produced fruit.You are honored by their [hypocritical] lipsBut [You are] far from their heart and mind.
In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch of David to spring forth; and He (the Messiah) shall execute justice and righteousness on the earth.
‘The waters nourished it, the deep [underground waters] made it grow tall.Its rivers ran all around the place where it was planted,Sending out its streams to all the trees (other nations) of the field.
Also they shall not shave their heads, yet they shall not allow their hair to grow long; they shall only cut short or trim their hair.
By the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They shall bear every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”
I shall be like the dew to Israel;He will blossom like the lily,And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon.
Then the Lord said, “You had compassion on the plant for which you did not work and which you did not cause to grow, which came up overnight and perished overnight.
She is emptied! She is desolate and waste!Hearts melting [in fear] and knees knocking!Anguish is in the whole body,And the faces of all grow pale!
Then say to Joshua, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold (look, keep in sight, watch), a Man (Messiah) whose name is Branch, for He shall branch out from His place (Israel, the Davidic line); and He shall build the [ultimate] temple of the Lord.
